I can't believe that March is just around the corner. Hell, I can't believe it's already 2024. As a kid, my parents would always tell me not to be in a rush to grow up, and to savor every drop of childhood, because time goes by so quickly when you get older. It seems like just yesterday I was scaling up the side of an active volcano in Guatemala, but that was over two years ago now. Sometimes I wish I could just hit the pause button, and be more present in the moment, but life clambers on whether I would like it to or not.
But time has also brought wisdom and reflection, learning and growth to all aspects of my life. I've hit the 75% mark on the fifth and most likely second last draft of my book. I'm hoping to have this one completed sometime in March, and then send it off for an editorial assessment and author feedback. With the knowledge gained, I intend to do a sixth and final draft followed shortly after by a final copy edit. I'm so close now, and it's both exhilarating and terrifying.
When I sat down to build the first website for my upcoming book, Broken - Pivotal Moments of Change, I really had no idea what I was doing - and it showed. Over this past three months I have researched the websites of authors I love and respect, seen what works and what doesn't, learned from my mistakes, and grew the confidence to take another sweeping approach at it. I finally sat down last week to do a complete reworking of the site and I'm happy to say it turned out better than I expected. I hope you enjoy the new look, and welcome feedback with open arms (and ears, eyes, and heart). The new website launched today.
I'm going to try to post in here once a week, with updates, random thoughts, book reviews and whatever else I can think of on a Sunday morning. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I wish you all health, happiness, abundance, joy and loving connections in your life. See you next week.
